Bike

Mike and I saw this cool bike in front of Garbanzo's last night. Pink paint would be better. Mike doesn't want to do this to his.

It's all Kenny

Mike and I took Kenny to the frozen yogurt shop for the fun portion of our date.  He had fun making the concoction but only took one bite of it.  Who doesn't want chocolate yogurt with chocolate syrup and M&M's? Yum.

Kenny talks the talk

Kenny really likes the playland at McDonalds.  Mike was making him walk up to other kids and introduce himself and ask their names.

Time to Park

Kenny toured a couple of parks today.  First Mike picked him up from school, and on the way home took Kenny by Central Park where he played for a while.  Later in the day Kenny scored his second park trip when he jumped in the car to go with Mike again to pick up Kelly from gymnastics.  Instead of heading right home, Kenny and Kelly played for a while.  Kenny got the Skittles by working out a sentence identifying the vending machine password.  "The Skittles password is E8."

Happy Mothers' Day

At church, all the women were excused from teaching and other callings for the third hour. We met and had muffins and sweet rolls and talked. The children showered me with construction paper gifts. What a nice day.

Happy post

I received the best news in the mail.  Patrick has had ear problems since he was very little. He had another surgery last August because his ear drum had turned inside out.  The written words say that his hearing is better than it has been in years. Hooray.

Cultures

Mike has started growing  sourdough cultures. We have found that the best place for it to grow is by the hard drives and computer cpu's in the family room.  Technology and old world bread, a strange mix.

Treat

To get Kenny using the potty for more than just pee, I offered him a McDonalds icecream if he put poo in the potty. He's finally out of diapers and only wears a pull up to bed. What a relief.

Kenny's cut

Here's the picture of Kenny's hair before Papa fixed it.  He knew it was bad- he tried to put water on it to grow and ended up walking around with his blanket on his head.

So limber

Kelly tried out for the gymnatics team, and made it.  She has tumbled, swung and generally taught herself gymnastics moves over the last few years.  She was so happy to be told she has talent.

Take me out to the park

Kenny saw some kids at the park playing baseball.  He wanted to join in, so Mike brought him home and found a tennis ball, some rackets and a hat.  He found a bat later. He loved chasing and throwing the ball. When Adam came out wearing a mitt, Kenny called it a baseball hand.

Thanks for the new furniture

Kenny settled on the pillows as the boys brought in the couches.

Our home teacher is so inspired.  Mike and I have been discussing how bad the family room furniture was getting.  The hometeacher asked us, without knowing this, if we wanted their old couches. He helped us bring them over and the old ones are in the garage waiting for dumpster day.

Another requirement done

Papa figured out after the third cub scout he can buy a birdhouse kit.  Adam hung it in the tree with pride.

Happy 7th birthday Mary Jane!

Mary Jane may be a year older, but she is still small enough to fit in Meg's Grandview locker.
Mary Jane wanted "Monster High" dolls for her birthday.  I had no clue what they were.  She took me to the Barbie section and showed me weird looking blue and pink dolls with crazy hair. Nana had a funny expression when Mary showed her, her new dolls!

Kelly Kelly Kelly

She sings!  She can play the recorder!
 She plays the trumpet!
She is an artist!  Oh, and she made the gymnastic team!  Hooray for Kelly!
