K is for Kelly Kathleen
Kelly gave a two minute talk on service last night at an Achievement Day picnic (inside the church gym because of the weather.) She did great. So here is my ode to Kelly. She is the fourth born. Kelly is my dark hair, olive skinned, outgoing, Red (the color code by Taylor Hartman) child. She is my most athletic child: she rode her bike with Mike at least 500 miles this summer and she taught herself all her gymnastic moves. Kelly has at least three offers of play dates everyday after school, "Kelly the phone is for you" is a common statement after 2:30pm. Her teacher asked her the other day if she had won Spirit of The West award, of course she did last year, if not she was going to be nominated again. Heavenly Father has plans for Kelly and as the go-getter she is, she will move mountains to do them. Hooray for Kelly.

What time is it? I probably need to be somewhere
I forgot to send clean clothes for Kenny to Nana's.
Megan forgot her flute this morning. The attendance lady knows me by name now.
Adam was excited to tell me that he did not receive a white note saying that he constantly talks and has called the teacher names (like meanie and urging her to write her notes faster with a "come on".)

5k Today!
Kelly got a stitch in her side so Mike carried her for a few blocks.
The family 5k fun run was at the church today. Nana and Papa took the bottom three children, Jon went Scouting, Patrick played video games and the rest of us were Fired Up! This year we did not take the short cut and Megan finished in 48 minutes and Mike, I and Kelly finished in 54 minutes!

Motor Home Madness
We all had lunch at the Motor Home at Cherry Creek on Saturday afternoon. We had brisket sandwiches and baked beans- yummy. The children rode their bikes around and Adam even tried to ride a two-wheeler. Papa won the game of 31, Kelly came a close second. We played out in the tent and stayed dry, even though it was raining. We had to go back home around 3 in the afternoon, Kenny needed a nap and quick.

Look what's on TV
I was in the kitchen and Megan said that Kenny's favorite commercial was on. I looked down and he was mesmerized with watching the TV screen. I asked if it was the one where the baby learns to read the word belly button? No, it's the Turbo Snake. I look at the TV and people are snaking sinks and pulling out gross wads of hair. Kenny looks like he's ready to call the toll free number and order numerous snakes and ask if the hair is extra! Yuck.

Mean mom
I believe in a 7 o'clock bedtime. Until the child reaches 5th grade -10 or 11 years old, he/she is required to go to bed at 7. I don't require that he sleep in his car bed- the hall floor will do. I don't care if she wears pajamas- she normally doesn't. If anyone actually falls asleep at 7- usually not- but be in bed and don't come downstairs. Being in bed leads to good sleep and good sleep leads to happier children, and of course happier mom.
Everyone else I want in their rooms by 8:30- by that age they should know better not to bother my quiet time.

White dress
This morning I put on my temple dress to see if it would still fit. (It's a little longer but not trip worry.) I heard Kenny wake up so I went to pull him out of his crib. He stopped yelling and looked up at me like I was an angel. I wish I could have captured his expression.
