This is the story of my family. I have 7 children ranging from 18 to 5 years old. What adventures we have.

Dolly
I found the girls playing dolls down in the family room this morning. They have loved their American Girl dolls since they were little. Mary hasn't gotten a doll yet, so Kelly and Megan were telling her about all their stories. Maybe Mary can pick hers out at the American Girl Store around Christmas.

And the winner is...
Falcon Creek 8th grade awards night netted Megan an award in Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Yearbook. She said when the teacher handed out the cards for what awards they were getting, the teacher said a blue dot meant sports. She had a blue dot and had never taken a gym class nor was involved in a team sport. (It ended up being the Yearbook award that was an after school club.) Hooray for Megan!

Mothers Day
Sometimes I cannot believe they are all mine.
My children showered me with sweet gifts of cards, candy and a plate. Mary made the plate in kindergarten- she said, "I drew the picture on paper and it turned into a plate." Mike said that at 11:15 pm last night at Walmart the parking lot was Saturday afternoon full and men were wandering around the store aimlessly. Funny.
Recycling
This is after more than 6 hours of work.
Megan learns to thread the needle and bobbin. She found the special tool called the Ripper. This is going through the bins of clothes in the garage.
Kelly has a project due on Wednesday where she is suppose to recycle something. She was told it could not be a 10 minute job (like the bird feeder that I thought we should do.) So looking on-line we found a project where you take your old jeans and make a cool pillow case.
Megan and I set out to try this out. She also had plans on doing a sewing project for her Young Women's final project for Virtue. Well, we found jeans and plaid shirts in the buckets in the garage- fulfilling the recycling requirement for Kelly. We then cut these jeans into strips using a template from and old cereal box (is that recycling?) and then sewed them together until we could fold it over and it was a pillow case.
My mom makes sewing look so easy. We were both super tired and my back was aching. Tomorrow we're going to teach Kelly how to do it, so she can take her own case to school.
