Fresh flowers in the family room make me happy.
This is the story of my family. I have 7 children ranging from 18 to 5 years old. What adventures we have.

Overland Meet
Kelly had a great gymnastic meet this morning. She placed in all the events and did better than last week.

Kitchen makeover pictures
The nook area now has a desk, rug and chair. My favorite is the counter under the window for the server, trash can and mini fridge. |
New over the stove microwave oven! |

First meet
Kelly broke her arm in February (falling off her bunk bed) and it took 8 weeks for it to mend. Since then she has been trying to recover her gymnastic skills. She could not participate in the preseason meets nor the first meets. Saturday was her first Optional meet at Elizabeth High School, with Chalk Box. Although she placed in all her events, she scored well on floor exercises and on vault. She did have a qualifying score for her "All Around" so she is now slated to go to Regionals. She has two practices before her next meet on Friday.

Summer reading

Summer work
Adam and Mary Jane have summer workbooks so they will keep up their reading, math, and writing skills. Adam is so happy he has completed 120 pages when I only assigned 4 pages so far. I'm sure his enthusiasm will wane as the summer progresses.

Kitchen make-over
Before: railing. It was made by a previous owner of this house. After 12 years it has been bitten and nicked and abused.
|
Before: Brown counters, ivory cupboards, Waverly curtains, ivory back splash, shelf in the nook, paint color and empty nook. |
After: I painted the cupboards white and the back splash a teal color. |
After: new "office" space with desk and rug. Notice the 1980's clutter shelf is gone. |
After: I painted the counters black

Covered bulletin board
I saw on pinterest how to cover a bulletin board with fabric. So tah-dah! This is covered with a yard of burlap that I found at Wal-Mart. The numbers were already on the fabric.
