Favorite things
Circa 1975- my dad is driving my younger brother Chris is in the passenger seat, my curly head is behind Chris and my mom is smiling in the middle of the rumble seat.
Sunday- Chris on the left with his daughter Abby standing on the running boards. My older brother Jim, ushering in riders is on the right in the pink shirt.
When I was a child one of my favorite things was to ride in my dad's 1929 Model A Ford. On Sunday, my brother Jim pulled it out and took me and the children out for some rides. The rumble seat is still way fun to ride in.

No notes
Jon noticed the piano wouldn't play. Apparently Kenneth Ammon, who else, stuffed all the books from the bench into the piano and it took the other 6 children to fish them out under the hammers. Mary Jane and her small hands rescued the last two books that no one else could get. Now all the music books are residing on the top of the china cupboard.

Gardening for 2 year olds
I raked out the garden... Kenny throws the dirt out and gets in trouble.
I put holes in the dirt... Kenny makes a Kenny-sized hole in the dirt and gets in trouble.
I put the seed in... Kenny takes the seed out and gets in trouble.
I replant the seed... Kenny throws rocks in and gets in trouble.
I water the beds... Kenny turns off the hose and runs in the house.
He must think that I'm such a gardening hypocrite!

Potatoes again?
My new favorite meal (or side with an egg) is hash browns. I just boil a bunch of potatoes for 25 minutes, drain and put them in the fridge (the fridge is the key to the goodness). Then the next day or later on in the week, I shred one with the cheese grater and put the shreds with a little oil or Pam in a frying pan on the stove. Just serve with salt and ketchup, it is so good.

Mothers' Day
I was running Jonathan over to his friends house, when I saw an orange sign that said "HUGE" was posted on a fence with an arrow. I followed and ended up at a rummage sale. I saw two chairs and asked Jon to go see how much they were- 25 dollars for the set. I had found my mom her Mothers' Day present!
Even if you use your words, I may not understand
At the ward fiesta Kenny was crying. Meg walked him around. Jonathan walked him around. I held him. Nana gave him candy and he was still upset. He didn't have a fever. Jonathan took him to the car to get his bottle. When he came back in with the still upset boy, Jon said that Kenny yelled every word he knew at Jon in the parking lot. I set the Buddha on my lap and unbuttoned his outfit, checked his diaper and then I took off his shoes. His feet were swollen from being in too tight footwear. Megan then remembered he was pointing to his Pooh shoes and yelling yucky.
Poor thing. He tried to tell us but we couldn't understand. I felt bad.
The next day, he jumped out of his high chair and brought me his plate. I said, "Thank you!" A while later I found him on the counter eating Macaroni and Cheese out of the pan. I guess he has decided if I don't understand him, he'll just take care of it.
