New Years Eve

The high temperature of the day was 10 degrees. Kenny wanted to go outside anyway.

He's a big 3!

Happy Birthday Kenny.

Merry Christmas

We had a great day celebrating Christmas. New biking glasses are awesome and so non-nerdy.

Snuggie up

Everyone at my brother Jim's house received a monogrammed Snuggie. We were so warm. I like to wear mine backwards so it billows when I walk.

Giant footwear

I love pink Crocs, but this might be too much of a good thing.

Falconaires

Megan loves to sing. She had a concert with her choir tonight. I liked that they sang a medley of Christmas songs from my childhood: walking in a winter wonder land, sleigh bells, Let it snow. When I was a child we would learn all these songs and have a performance in December: now a days the schools seem afraid of anything that might say Christmas so I've heard Celebrate Kwanza and Driedel at more concerts than I could count. One time they sang a song about Fruit cake, oh the classics.

Deserted Dinner

We're all sitting at the table eating dinner and Kenny left without touching his dinner. We found him in kitchen eating the dessert cookies.

What's in your basket?

Oh Kenny. I was getting ready to take the older children to a Young Men/Young Women's fireside and Kenny comes trucking into the room. I smell a weird smell and notice he has some substance on his hands... after deciphering he had gotten into Window cleaner I called the Poison Control Center.. after much washing and getting him to drink he was fine. Me- upset and hair turning grey.

Play

The Saturday afternoon show: Adam and Mary were ready to see super heroes and villians.
The kids didn't recognize Megan because her hair was straightened.
Patrick is in^ the middle.

Megan was "Artist 3" in the middle school's production of "The Comic Book Artist." Patrick was the prop master. We all went to see the play this weekend.

Kitchen helper

If there is a pot on the stove Kenny is there to stir- wanted or not.

3 stories

We went to Monkey Bizness for story time today. It gave Kenny a chance to run out his energy for a little bit. I knew it was time to go when other mothers were complaining that Kenny was being dangerous on the different climbing things. (He was being dangerous jumping across the slide and stopping at the bottom so other kids ran into each other.)

Present

Mike bought me an ottoman/coffee table for Christmas. Mike put it together last night while everyone was sleeping. This morning Kenny discovered it and he removed all the handles and hid them. After finding them, Jon screwed them in super tight.

Off to church

So, I put Kenny in a t-shirt for church. I covertly covered it up with a sweater. Kenny would not leave that sweater on for anything. So chick magnet t-shirt it is. I hope everyone felt polarized.

Hey Woody

Megan gave Kenny a bath before bed.

The dark side of Patrick

Patrick put together his "costume" for the play. He is on the prop crew and will have to wear all black.

Kelly sings

Kelly is in the 4th grade and this is her second year to be in the school choir. Tonight was the concert, she sang and danced great. The down-side of having so many children though, is that I've heard all of the songs performed when Megan and Patrick were in the elementary school choir. By the time Mary gets to be in the choir I think she will know all the songs on the first day.

Biking Weather

The computer said it was 32 degrees in Aurora so Mike put on all his cold weather gear and went for a ride.

12:01 Black Friday

I made an appearance at my local Wal-Mart at midnight. It was so crowded, luckily I steered Mike all the way around the store to the 20 items or fewer lanes (we didn't have more than 20) and there were only three people ahead of us. Usually buying stuff for real cheap gives me a thrill but I didn't feel well so I just wanted to get out of there. That was all the shopping I could stomach this year. (Quite literally.)

Megan's desk

Megan was getting the props together for the middle school play.

Kindergarten Feast

Jon went to the Kindergarten and was Mary's VIP.
Kenny only liked the candy that was on the table.

Sinusoidal Functions

Jon had a project for Trig. due Monday. I'd love to tell you about all the math, but I cannot. The cool part is the poster. The glittered sun with the Earth that rotates around the sun (with a clock motor.) Jon texted and said that, "She loved it. It was the first moving one ever." His teacher was going to put it up high in a place of honor, so no one will mess with it. Hooray.

Innovation

The problem: Kenny takes the dvd's out of the player and scratches them.

Solution: A removable panel in front of the player, with a hole for the infrared for the remote. So far he hasn't figured out how to get to it.

Beauty and the Beast matinee

Mary and Bell after the show. She gushed about Belle's dress all weekend.
Danny Berg as La Fou- he was the Pa in Mike
and my family on Trek this summer. He was awesome.
Kelly still has a big crush on him- probably all the
girls at Grandview High School do too.

Mike took Adam and Mary to the Saturday afternoon performance. Jon said that he could tell that the audience had more children because they laughed at different things than the other crowds. Mary loved the show, Adam claimed he didn't like any of it. (He did bring home a lot of confetti for someone who didn't like anything.)

In the pit

Jonathan played in the orchestra for the high school play Beauty and the Beast. It was so cool to hear a live "sound track" for the play. Tonight was opening night, he has three more shows. It was really worth all the hard work.

Getting ready for the feast

Nana made Mary Jane a pilgrim outfit for the kindergarten Thanksgiving feast. The cuffs and "bib" are snapped on so she can wear the black dress with a belt to church! She could have worn it to the modest fashion show last night- not even an ankle showing.

Modest is Hottest

Megan was in a YW fashion show at Mutual tonight. Mary and Kelly came to learn what to wear. I love the outfit that Meg's wearing, I found it at Goodwill for 3 dollars.

Games

I wondered how all the game pieces kept falling out of the closet.

Music men

Piano man
Kenny wants to play the flute so Megan put the mouth piece to his mouth. He then spit a "Lugey" into the hole. Megan squealed and ran it to the kitchen sink. Not a flute boy.
Patrick tried, did not spit, but could not get it to play- stick to the trombone.

He's not the Biggest Loser

I put in Kenny's favorite Buzz LightYear cartoon in the player, he then gets really upset. I lift him up to the dvd's and say, "What do you want to watch?" He grabs my 20 minute Jillian work out video. I put it in thinking he'll cry for Buzz. Nope, he just pulls out the weights and the mats. He's my exercise inspiration.

He made the mess

He's learned: if you spill, clean it up. Unfortunately, before he finished, he hit Mary Jane with the broom.

Fall poems

I printed these signs for the cars (for Jon) and a couple printed on two pieces of paper. Mary Jane came up to me and showed me how she decorated it. She said the words say: The leaves are falling down. I play in them. I jump in them.

Potter Pumpkins

Slytherins Snake
Voldemort and Snape- not on the same side!
Megan carved the snake, me the Snape and Mike Voldie- You know Who.
