Time to Tag

June 2004, it is the opening day of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Mike's sisters and their families met us a the Mann Chinese Theater at Parker and Arapahoe Road. We did not go to the first show (which was really crowded) we went to the second, which was not. I remember Grandma and Grandpa took Adam while we were at the show.

I tag Mom, Tracy, Sari and Kara!

Here are the rules: 1. Choose the 4th folder where you store your photos on your computer. 2. Select the 4th photo in the folder. 3. Explain the picture. 4. Tag 4 people to do the same. Good Luck.

I'll take the bigger half

Mike offered Kenny a little piece of candy bar- Kenny wanted the bar that the piece came from.
Do not take candy from this baby!
Megan needed a box to make scenery for the Wizard of Oz. Papa brought her a kids delight- a refrigerator box! When Adam was upstairs getting his clothes to go to Nana's house the kids hid in the box. Papa told Adam that the box was magic, he should knock on the box and see if it will talk to him. Adam knocked on the box, and scaring me and Adam, Mary growled really loud. We didn't expect the magic.

Theo gave us a tea set- Herbal Tea was served this morning.

Kenny on the box.

The kitchen clean-up contest

I asked Jon if he thought I could clean the kitchen before the kettle boiled water. He looked around at the seriously messy kitchen piled with breakfast, lunch, and dinner plates and said, if it boils after you are done I will go without hot chocolate. Deal. He puts the water on and I begin to speed clean. Once Jon turns his back I turn the kettle down to med- wondering if he'll notice. He does not when the stove makes that clicking noise from turning down the heat. But, 5 minutes later he looked over there and saw the trick and said, "clever, but not clever enough." So two cups of hugs and kisses hot chocolate! (And I didn't even get the stove clean.) Oh well.

A is for Adam

It was so nice outside, Mike insisted we go out and mess with the garden for a few minutes before he went to work. Adam looks up into the sky and sees where the airplane exhaust from a couple of planes has made an A in the sky. I asked him what it stands for, he says Adam or ant.

Warm day

He likes apples, really likes apples.
I always scold Adam for throwing rocks. I do not scold for stuffing the rocks in his shirt, especially when he is wearing his "Sandman" shirt.

With unusual temperatures in the 70's, the kids ventured out to the backyard. Even Kenny didn't have to stand at the window and watch the fun.

Daddy does dinner

I went to the visiting teaching conference up at the church tonight and Mike fed the children. Kenny wonders why Mom has never served Nutella for dinner before. Bliss!

As you wish

There was fighting over what movie to put in. Every movie (we own) received a veto from most family members. I then forced all to watch the Princess Bride.
Favorite lines:
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
Westley: I told you I would always come for you. Why didn't you wait for me?
Buttercup: Well... you were dead.
Westley: Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.

Miracle Max: You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.

They all loved the movie but if not, "Get used to disappointment."

What time is it?

Time to dance with Napoleon and Ken?
Time to do extra credit on a Friday night?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

Clues

Hmmmm, cheese found on the fridge, who could have done it?

You have to have super sleuth skills to be a mom. Like the case of the cheese on the refrigerator. Skills of observation and remembering fine details are a must to solve this dilemma.

Patience

Kenny waits for Kelly to make him a bottle- definitely a life skill that an 8 year old needs to know.
Adam gets to clean under the couch- who knows how all that stuff got under there.

Amazing Malms

We took the children on a surprise trip to Amazing Jakes. It is an indoor amusement park. We had fun playing video games, go-karts, bumper cars and mini-roller coaster. The kids were surprised and had a fun time.

What parents do when kids go to bed

Play blocks, of course.

Junk Drawer

Using his new climbing skills, Kenny searches the junk drawer. I don't really like whistling, well, I hate whistling, but he is so cute.

Sunbeam

Mary gets her crayons ready for church.

Canning

It's been three months since we had the broken canner, and it's broken again. (Maybe it is still broken from the last time!) Kenny found a good use for the box though.

Happy Hearts

We celebrated Valentine's Day with lots of love and our traditional Salmon dinner.

Is it a waiting room?

No, it is the dining room! I had to modify it for Kenny. The dining room...ahhhhh (80's commercial).

Ken of the Mountain

Kenneth learns a new and dangerous skill. He is so proud of himself. He can watch Mom cook dinner with the best of them and get on the dining room table- great.

The Borrower

Miss Mary likes to take a piece of paper from the printer and color both sides with her crayons. As a good borrower she puts the colored paper back into the printer and takes another one. Unsuspecting 7th graders sometimes get essays on beautiful backgrounds.

Discovery

He has sweet little curls, especially the little curly on the top. Sister Pixton said I should put a ribbon on it. Kenny didn't like that idea.

Caught on tape

The case of the missing bowling pin
We were playing some family room bowling. Jonathan was keeping score. Mary got a turn whenever she started crying. Kenny just kicked the pins down. During the game we lost a pin. We searched high and low (there are only 6 pins in the game). I had taken a couple of videos and decided to watch them to see if I had recorded where it went. After review, suspect number one, Adam Jim, seen at the bottom of the video touching the pins, was asked where the pin was and he said in his room. He was asked to get it and then his turn was forfeited. The game concluded with Megan the winner and Patrick the runner up.

The evidence.

Stupid dishwasher

Before dinner I asked Patrick to unload the dishwasher. He told me that all the dishes had sandy stuff on them. This dishwasher has been trouble since we installed it last year. The repair man has been out three times and it still does this kind of stuff. Patrick and I started rinsing the dishes before we put them away. This started making me angry. The more stuff I washed off- gritty stuff- the more I got mad. After it was unloaded I picked a couple things out of the bottom and became frustrated. I then began to yell at it and started dumping pitchers of hot water into the bottom of the dishwasher. Jonathan and Patrick freaked out as the bottom started swimming with water and all sorts of debris. "How am I going to get this crud out of here?" Jon and Patrick said "don't know." "Get me the wet/dry vac!" "What?" So I storm out to the garage and get the stupid vac and start sucking up all the water and stuff that was floating in the bottom. We loaded the dishwasher, ran it. It produced the cleanest load of dishes I've ever seen from it. Even the inside looked clean. Who knew I had to get tough with it?

Caught with the Crayolas!

I caught this little artist? coloring on the stairs with a fistful of colors. He had the audacity to get angry when I took them away and smile at the camera as I took a picture of his crime.

Papa saw his shadow and it's 6 weeks more winter

Happy 64, Dad! Mom, Dad, Chris and his girls came over to celebrate Ground Hogs Day- my Dad's Birthday. The kids had fun playing with the cousins.
Mary gave her own hair a trim. She looks like an 80's punker. An oh so cute punker with an orange shirt with birds on it. She said her cut hair is "outside". It will grow back, one curl at a time.

It's a Mud-Blood

The Sunday Sweet on Cake Wrecks is Darth Vader holding a baby with the caption that says, It's a Girl!
After looking at the Sunday Sweet, I'm inspired. I now want to have a another baby so I could have a baby shower cake like this one. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named holding my baby with the inscription "It's a Mud-Blood". Definitely on a chocolate pudding cake. Wow, I can't believe my imagination, a baby? Ha Ha.
