Recycling

This is after more than 6 hours of work.

Megan learns to thread the needle and bobbin. She found the special tool called the Ripper. This is going through the bins of clothes in the garage.

Kelly has a project due on Wednesday where she is suppose to recycle something. She was told it could not be a 10 minute job (like the bird feeder that I thought we should do.) So looking on-line we found a project where you take your old jeans and make a cool pillow case.

Megan and I set out to try this out. She also had plans on doing a sewing project for her Young Women's final project for Virtue. Well, we found jeans and plaid shirts in the buckets in the garage- fulfilling the recycling requirement for Kelly. We then cut these jeans into strips using a template from and old cereal box (is that recycling?) and then sewed them together until we could fold it over and it was a pillow case.

My mom makes sewing look so easy. We were both super tired and my back was aching. Tomorrow we're going to teach Kelly how to do it, so she can take her own case to school.
