"Who knocked over my water?" said Mike.

Recruits

I decided to rally the troops out to the garden this morning for an hour of weed pulling. Some were more willing than others, but we weeded more of the yard than just Mike and I alone.

Mud thumbs

We have a tomato, an itty bitty one, but a tomato.

After all the rain yesterday Mike and I pulled weeds out of the gardens. We could have spent all day weeding but we didn't.

Independence

Patrick, get out of the hail.
How many people are at this campsite? My brother Jim said it just looks like the Malm garage.
It is so easy to fix a flat with a Kenny helping.

After church we fixed Megan's bike and we (Jon, Meg, Mike, Kenny and I) rode to Cherry Creek and met my parents, the rest of our children and my brothers and their families. After we got there it began to rain and hail. We hung out and played cards until the weather cleared. Us bikers rode back home to barely make it until the rain began again. Fun day anyway.

Barney Ban takes nasty turn

After too many days of Kenny having a Barney fit, generally spitting and hitting if his favorite purple dino wasn't on the tv, we went on a Barney ban. I think it's because he didn't know what to do with himself he decided to learn to paint, finger paint that is. His works of art showed up in the backyard this afternoon. At first, it looked like mud... but at first whiff it was, sadly, poop. I change his pants four times this afternoon, not to mention the many gross hand washings. Jon said Kenny must have willed the poo to fill his diaper, "I must paint all the yard furniture." Later on, when I had thought he was done with his creations he took the honey bottle outside just to make the paint smell better. Megan reports that he did let her wash his hair without screaming in the bathtub this evening, coincidence? I think not.
