Looks more like artwork than food storage. I like random arrangement.
Hopefully the bottles were all empty. My sister used to leave coffee cups in her room...they grew all kinds of things by the time I'd gather them. Yuck.
Some of the bottles needed to be scrubbed out with the bottle brush. If they are too stinky, I just throw them away.
